Having been on a diet for 3 months I couldn’t resist making chips using our freshly dug potatoes. These are worth the effort giving wonderful crisp chips.
CRISP POTATO CHIPS
Preparation and Ingredients
Saucepan and steamer basket that fits over it
Potatoes – peel and cut into chips
Place chipped potatoes in the steamer over a pot of boiling water, cover with a lid
Steam for 10 minutes
Place the steamed potatoes on baking paper on a tray and put in the freezer for 10 minutes
Heat oil in deep fryer to 190°
Cook the potatoes in the oil for 4 minutes until golden.
Drain on kitchen paper and enjoy.
